Morning all,
I would like to ask for
here from the motronic experts. I managed to fc*k up the RS2 ECU
. At least that's my thought. So I've methodically debugged what could be wrong, and I would like to hear the experts thoughts on something I might have missed and how to (if possible) fix it.
It all began with the engine rebuild. I had the car running last month and discovered an engine issue which had me pull the head off again. Issue was fixed and head was put back on, but I forgot to put on the earthing strap on the engine block which sits on the sump.
Stupid mistake, I know....
Which made the car crank over super slow, swapped for a new battery, still almost no cranking. Then I noticed the earth strap was not on the block, so mounted back on and presto, crancking over happily, but no starter anymore....
- So I've double checked all fuses, all ok.
- Double checked voltage at Camshaft position sensor and signal on the green wire with a old-skool multimeter, 4,7 volts and during cranking I see it changing a bit to 4,2 due to trigger window.
- When starting, Fuel pump relay gets triggered
- When starting, No spark
- When starting No fuel on piston is squirted, no fuel smell either, nothing.
- When starting not the slightest movement on the Rev counter dial on dash.
So my conclusion is that this mistake cost me the ecu. and now I would like to ask what are the options. One of them is to switch to Maxxecu, but I'd rather first try to get to fix this. But my motronic knowledge stops here.
Any advise to dig further? Thanks!
