Used RS2 parts appear all the time but you need to be in the right place at the right time either on ebay or the forum for sale section.

I got all the bits mentioned above for my Coupe then sold them as I bought a car which was already modded which is another option

We have people on here like Bry and Sal who can get hold of bits.

If you want a pre modded S2 speak to Audiman he has a 550 bhp Coupe for sale which is a monster http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20397

Have to agree with what Jamo said, rather than 'stage' tuning, decide where you want to get it to and start off your parts collection & mods with that in mind.

It is worth thinking about what power-rating you want first, as there is of course more to do the higher you go.

If you're going for RS2 spec, you can do it something like this based on new parts:

      RS2 Turbo £900
      Exhaust Mani £500
      Intercooler £350
      Injectors £250
      Remap £500

Other suggestions would be Samco hoses @ 250, Forge DV @ 90, 7A/RS2 Ex. cam about 150 used i think. Might wanna think about Bosch 044 fuelpump @ 150 and might find a bit of clutch slippage above 350hp.

I think you'd be pushing 350-360 outta that, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, of course doing the exhaust in 2.75" - 3" at £750-£1k with all the above is good for about 400ft/lbs and 380bhp.

There are lots of non-Audi tuning parts becoming available, plenty of options out there! The "power parts" aren't neccesarily more expensive, you just need to do more 'supporting work'... eg. I have some 60lb injectors (£200) a used RS2-IC and a GT3071R kit (£900); not any more expensive than the RS2 route but in order to see it's potential I had to rebuild the motor with a performance clutch and forged rods which was a hefty increase to the bill!

      Cheers

Next question i suppose - how does the gbox stand up to more power? whats its reliable limit?

and seeing as its an external WG, anyone running a screamer pipe? That must sound fierce with the 5 pot howl

5-speed in the 3B is rather weak, but Audiman's 550bhp monster still runds on one. It gets rebuilt quite frequently though

The 6-speed is stronger, plenty running 4-500 through it, as with anything depends how hard you thrash it really. 1st gear is the weakpoint, though the RS2 boxes and later S2 boxes had a stronger 1st.

For ultimate abuse, the S4 (biturbo) "EDU" box is recommended. They have a flexi-shaft that seems indestructable. Suits the rest of the drivetrain...

So pretty strong then... good news after my experiances of Nissan's butter box's

It seems the S2 was built for tuning

There's quite a few people who had seperate wastegate pipes, most have ditched them as they are too loud!
