how many people with s2 are running on lpg here?

I've had the s2 for a couple of month now, and on petrol, it costs the same to run as my range rover overfinch with a (little bit) livelier than usual rover v8 in it.

I have been involved with gas carburation and injection for a long time now and know the pros and cons of a lot of the different systems as well as some of the better or worse trends the general industry of lpg and road vehicles have undertook.

You dont have to run hot, and you dont need to lose power with lpg/propane, but when you have already had it fitted, and then you hear that the hardware cannot give you what you want without running at 100% duty is annoying.

I'm curious if many of you have had your cars converted, and if you are happy?

There were a couple of RS2's abroad that are running LPG, I know there is a thread about it on rs246 too

I'd say there was something wrong with the S2 if it's using as much petrol as the Overfinch. I've got a Range Rover Classic with a 'livlier' engine in and it does about half the mpg the S2 does
What model is your Range Rover?

I forgot to mention the range rover is gassed doing about 15mpg for between 35 and 45 pence per litre, whereas the audi on petrol is about 25mpg on petrol which hurts to buy.

I have had a few cars that showed marked performance improvements once gassed, and turbos (which used to represent a problem when fitted with european diaphragm gas kits and 'mixers') can benefit greatly in my opinion, dur to the lack of inherent 'knock' from within gas compared to the petrol droplet, keeping boost figures up across the board.

You've just got to keep the gas a little bit rich on turbocharged engines, and deal with timing.

Its a 1990 chassis, vogue se.
overfinch fiddled gearbox, suspension, quick steering and quicker petrol tank. 3 gas tanks, running range of 360 driven gently, rpi engine with goodies and Impco gas system.
50,000 miles in 12 months, one hub seal replacement, 2 sets of brake pads.

The only reason I have an s2 now is due to that Range Rover earning me the cash to buy it!
