    Getting rid of aux radiator

I know a few have done this when fitting bigger intercoolers and oil coolers in its place.

I would like to use a 180 degree silicone hose to block this up rather than bungs as some have, all i would like to know is what bore size should i get to match the standard rubber hoses ?

    Cheers me dears

18-20mm will do the job or a standard dump valve blanking plug.

I hope you dont mean a hose joined from top to bottom of the rad?

Big no no as it allows a bypass of hot coolant across the rad!

In a word, no. You'll effectively be by-passing the main coolilng circuit if you do this, which will kill your car faster than death by lethal injection. What you need to do is bung the pipes...

                    mannnn,
I thought it was such a good idea too....
so I just plug off the top opening or the bottom to make use of the radiator...
cuz before I had it just plumbed to the top and thought the coolant would just flow through the endtank without going to the radiator, so I t'd off that to the bottom..
so i'm assuming I need to plug off the top right?

                      Simple really.

The 2 ends that used to go to the aux. rad., cut them shorter (one from the top of the rad. pointing ta front of car, t'other smaller bore from the bottom rad. hose)and plug BOTH ENDS with copper pipe ends stops and jubilee clips from yer local diy shop. Job done!
