R201 resistor change on ABY to go RS2 spec.

    Hi,

I am going to follow the RS2 turbo-way on my ABY and just bought a VMAP 3 bar sensor (plus a lot more stuff off course).

So I will be loading MTM RS2 software into my ABY ECU.
On the German Meckis forum I read that if I would replace my Bosch 250Kpa sensor with a Bosch 300Kpa version I would need to change the R201 resistor into a 5k62 Ohm resistor inside the ECU. This would be needed to 'tell' the ABY ECU (same for AAN) that I am also are using bigger RS2 injectors as the standard ABY ones.

Now I do not know if this is also neccesary for the VMAP sensor?

Is the R201 resistor linked to the RS2 injectors or to the Bosch 300 Kpa sensor?

I have a VMAP, RS2 injectors (and MAF) and MRC software. As far as I know, there were no other changes to the ECU other than removing the 2.5 Bar Bosch MAP and installing the VMAP. I believe the software takes care of all the fueling, timing and boost issues.

By the way, I hope you got the VMAP with the added option of being able to adjust the setting while sitting in the car using the ignition key and the throttle (car not running). I can change my "3.0 Bar" down to 2.7 Bar (in 0.1 Bar increments) to compensate for poor gas OR I can make it go up to 3.1 Bar if I get really good gas (OR I add some toluene to the tank).

I only drive good petrol. That's no problem here in the Netherlands.

I took the cheap Vmap nevertheles on advise from Javad. I have never read that you need to be able to switch between 'bar-option' of the MAP sensors. The ECU will take care of the rest I presume....

Do you think I need to change this resistor when I will go and use the RS2 injectors instead of the ABY injectors in my RS2 turbo/chipset setup?

Yes if the software is for ADU.

YES - if ADU software with RS2 injectors you need the R201 change.

I changed it to the 2.5-4 bar sensor in case it is need in the future

OK, I will give it a try then. I habe problems already with the OEM RS2 sw since my ABY-> ADU conversion and next week I will be runnning the MTM RS2 sw. The ECU gives fault code 2341, which can be fuel related I think.

                  cheers
