Just had the clutch on my Aby changed now...

Just had the clutch on my Aby Estate changed now the starter motor is making strange sounds when i start the engine. It does start just doesn't sound great.
They also changed an inner CV boot and steering rack gaiter.

Does the starter motor need to be moved when any of the above is done? or is it just time to change the starter motor?

    Thanks

As far as I know it does not need to be removed tho they might have to get access to some of the bolts. They might have removed it for the cv boot but depends what sort of company they are and if they know what they are doing.

It might not be tightened properly. Otherwise it's a very simple procedure in removing the starter.

Quick stupid question but which side is the starter? Turbo side?

Irrespective of who done the clutch (specialist or big garage), I'd go round and check the state of all parts that have been removed and refitted, gbox/mounts, steering rack, propshaft, exhaust mounts and manifold connections etc.

Dunno how long since you had clutch changed but I'd give it a week max before having a quick look at the above, you might find something loose or missing that'll save you a bit of pain in the future..
