Left my pressure tester at home
So if there's anyone in Cornwall with one that fancies a meet up?
This is a strange one, the car drives quite well untill above 5psi when the whooshing gets louder and the performance drops off, it still boosts but at 15psi it feels less fit than at 5psi.. which is not right... when I floor it it'll boost to 26 or 28 but rapidly drop and by 4,000 rpm its dropped to 20psi. Sometimes its going into overboost lurch mode.. I think it was actually going pretty well the other day cos I had a go with a Maseratti and really piised the guy off, which made me laugh a lot, he was basically going backwards and so disgusted that he had to pass me on the inside down a slip road to save face. I laughed for about 5 mins then , flushed with sucess pulled in and gave the wastegate spring an extra turn (well 2 actualy)
the next time I floored it it hit the end of the boost gauge (past 30psi) and blew off the small tube that connects to the carbon can valve. I fixed this and carried on after turning the screw back out again but I'm sure its not been the same since. Cant see any leaks but may be the DV (Bailey) sticking or the silly valve in the PCV again.. This car really does my head in sometimes..
