I have just recieved my new engine and gearbox mounts, the engine mounts have different part numbers and prices but as far as i can tell they are both exactly the same. So what is the difference between 8A0 199 382 and 8A0 199 382 D.
I dont want to get them the wrong way round

I think there was also a different right hand side mount for AC cars. And some also had a little rubber piece on top which i assume was to protect against heat.

What i really mean is offset which way, slightly forwards, backwards, to the left or right? Curious as to why it has moved, is the difference in the alloy supports or have they moved the engine position slighty for some reason?
I thinks i'll be going for the SD versions anyway

on the subject of engine mounts, how do you tell when they are knaceked?
My car has a little wobble on idle, i can only assume its the engine rocking on its mounts?
So if both mine are the D model, can they be used on both sides, as i ordered one for either side. Or am i screwed with 2 same side mounts?.
If i fit them would there be a problem or are both uprated just to withstand heat?

How i found them to be knackered was when the engine tried to take off out of the front of the car leaving a nice big crescent moon in the back of the intercooler

i had a problem when i ordered mine two of the same came ... it took me ages to see that the two i took of looked different to each other. only slightly different ..so the one mount fitted and the other didnt ( the one that didnt fit was bust as luck would have it) so in the end i couldnt be bothered ordering another so i made the mounting holes on the one mount a bit bigger only slightly and well the mount fitted on and as far as i can tell one year later it has not made any difference to where the engine sits .. i know scary ... an it always makes me sad when i do something like this. it was on an aby.. just thought id share this tail... il put anothe rpost up when it brakes...
