    Fault Codes

could anyone give me an idea of how to rectify these fault codes.

Control Module Part Number: 895 907 404 BA
Component and/or Version: MOTOR PMC 1
    Software Coding: 0261200484
    Work Shop Code: 1267356560
    2 Faults Found:
    01253 - Fuel Injector for Cylinder 5 (N83)
31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
00515 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
    30-00 - Please Register/Activate

The car is running extremley lumpy and i have tried many things.

    I have checked TDC timing
    changed lamba probe
    changed dv
    checked all plugs and leads
    Checked distributor
    checked boost hoses and pressure
and i am currently looking for a compression tester.

    Please help

Answer is in the fault code. Either a duff injector, or the wiring to it.
I'd say wiring, looking at "open or short to ground"

You could eliminate a duff injector by swapping into another cylinder, Try a search on how to remove them, sure someone asked recently.

Good advice - might be lucky and its just a loose connection on that injector. It not then swap injectors 5 and 4 and see if the fault moves or not. If the fault moves to 4, then its a faulty injector, if not then its the loom that is carrying the fault.

From my expierence - it's not unusual to have injector connection oxidation or something. I've seen this error on three cars. One AAN and few 3b's. All of them were started after long non running. Contact anticorosion/lubricating spray, and few plug/unplug did the job. Error gone permanently.

To determine loom problem, gently bend a injector connecting wire a litle with finger while engine running. If running sound will change - you need to fix a loom (it usually brakes at the connector, so simply solder it).

I notice the ECU fault code has gone, did you do anything to fix this? Or did it just clear and not return? (i'm getting one now)

Cleared and not returned again. Also. One more thing, I've fixed suspected injector wire with cable tie to the fuel rail to prevent it's vibration. But this was done as precautionary.
