    Scwhitzer/Borg Warner S200 and S300 turbocharger

Has anone ever use one of those, I am looking into an s256 at the moment with twin entry turbine. It is supposed to be a realy good turbo. Here is a quote from September 2006 Issue of DSport magazine...

"What’s Better Than A Ball Bearing?

Introducing the new Scwhitzer/Borg Warner S200 and S300 turbocharger, with its Extended Tip Technology, it sports one of the best looking compressor maps we’ve ever seen. The Extended Tip Technology together with a Map Width Enhancement Groover allows this turbocharger to support one of the highest pressure ratios available today. This new extended tip compressor design maximizes flow while minimizing rotating weight and inertia. This unit offers a compete aero package for unbeatable horsepower and uncompromising spool up.

and here is a map for S256.

What do you think of such a turbo???

    Thanks.

bobby, your best bet is to sit down and do some turbo calculations using the spreadsheet in the turbo calcs thread

Welcome to the World of High tech truck turbos. You should also take a look at Holset turbos. All of these turbos the Holsets since the early ninetys and the Schwitzers and Garretts since a couple of years offer in their new turbos Extended tip geometry and Map Enhancement groove AKA Anti-Surge Housing.
      Go Holset or Go RS4

          S200 turbo

I've done my calculations based on a redline of 7200RPM (don't want to change con rods) a pressure ratio of 2.8 (22.5 psi of boost, 37.2 psi aboslute), giving me an estimated 450hp. That should be enough... Also, I've calculated a full boost by 3500RPM , well I hope so. What do you think about that... If I want to crank the boost up at lower rpm, I would have a good range...The map is one of a S256.

          Thanks.

I have bought the S256 with twin entry turbine. I'm looking for an Haltech E11V2 to have the possibility to fine tune it. Also all the input/output I'm looking for are included with this engine management. To reduce lag, I want to build a turbine bypass valve, actuated by the computer, wich would close one side of the exhaust housing of the turbo, let's say under 3500rpm, a little bit like the old RX7. Of course all will have to be custom made with a CNC. Still buying stuff slowly, cashflow been scarce those days...

Many projets on the way, not too much time for fun...
