I checked the earth a couple of days ago and it seems fine. I would have asked them to replace the battery but its holding charge absolutely fine and has shown no signs of running out of juice to me.
Not entirely sure how they ran it flat to be honest unless they left some lights on? The interior lights are on an auto time out so it shouldn't be them.
Just seems odd that you've got an unusual flat battery incident, and now you're having intermittent electrical gremlins (ABS, windows, misfire)... Reckon there's more to that.

Oh I got home ok, alot quicker too! (sorry for not posting earlier, I stopped off to play football on the way home!
So for those of you who are interested here is what happened:
I turned up at the Newsh household and we stuck the car straight on VAGCOM (which meant the bottom of the dash in the drivers footwell had to be removed, but I digress). It told us that the car had too much boost which baffled both of us so I took John out to show him how awful the performance was. The odd thing about this problem with the car was that if I pull over, switch the car off and then switch it back on again it would hold boost and fly along like a scalded Cat..but only until I lifted off as I would have no boost thereafter.
We were both abit baffled but we decided to use the boost gauge to see what was happening only to find that the hose from the Diverter Valve to the Inlet Manifold was no more than perched on at the IM side, we also found that the hose running from the Inlet Manifold to the ECU had completely broke and was just hanging loose.
A few snips and clips later from John and we were back in business! He has managed to cure both my boost problems and my missfire on idle.
I honestly cannot thank you enough John, I'm still smiling now!
Glad to hear this is fixed - was that any of the hoses we replaced a while back Newsh with that flexible silicone hose stuff, or was it a different hose?

Yes, it was the 3 or 4mm bore silicon hose, Rob is going to source some of the stock braided rubber type hose to replace them, the one to the DV had lost its clip (or never had one) the one to the ECU had broken off right next to the clip. So there was a boost leak and no MAP signal to the ECU so it was going into limp home mode.
That was the conclusion that both John and Myself came too. Obviously being braided there is protection against both heat and and movement in the hose which is why I shall be getting ahold of some as soon as I can.
John, I have no idea what Map Sensor the ECU has but I guess thats no suprise!
Is 1.1 - 1.2 Bar a decent reading considering it hasn't been live mapped?

I can't remember what boost you get with a homefry. A little more than that I think, I seem to remember 20psi, also the homefry would give you a remapped advance curve which I'm not sure AMD would have done.
I have some of that hose in my engine bay, need to get a couple of metres of the braided stuff.
I may have found somewhere to get my car remapped for very few beer tokens. My friend runs the surrey rolling road and he is good friends with the guys who ran AMD before it went down the pan. They have used his rolling road on occasions to remap customers cars which can't be too bad as I would get the trade price of £150!
