That looks like a PITA, what about reducing/modifying the head side?

You dont want to restrict the flow of water through the head, and your going for more power therefore more heat.

Also easier to find a welder to do the block (iron) as opposed to alloy heads...far easier to get wrong.

        True...

Fortunately, I'm hoping if I keep my 034 103 351G KV head (same as MB/MC) attached to it's KV bottom end with new rods/pistons there will be no gallery alignment issues. Unfortunately that's not a lot of help for Jon with the 20v though.

          As post 9...

Overhaul the block and head, bigger IC and modern turbo, standalone ecu and you'll get a storming lump.

Everyday driver 4-450 hp @ crank is more than enough?

I have a KV head i need to get rid of Ian if you need it

Talking about cooling cylinder heads, there is a great mod for better cooling of a 10v head on Motorgeek, i will post it up when i find it.

Really?.... Blimey ... even a genuine 300/320bhp will be rapid with the low geared 016 CQ box... That'll be a good start for the A2 replica project..

Thanks for the offer Jon, I'm okay at the moment, I've got an MC and a KV head. Would like to see that post too... I think I might be possibly generating a bit more heat than anticipated.

what's the cost of converting KV block to 3B analog????
as i understand, we only need oil cooling???

To go to the 20v head (3B) I think you'll have to attempt the same water gallery modification to the block that Jon441 has done, together with the additional oil spray jets.

additional oil spray jets - i think it's hard to do something with it...
                          any ideas?
