Yeah the coupé's are getting pretty rare around here, especially quattro's. The photo was taken in Hulst, close to where I live (Biervliet) and that's near the North Sea/Belgian border.

The car is in pretty good condition, interior is spotless, body only has minor issues. Quite a find, considering it was stored in a barn for the past 8 years.. only needed to replace the fuel pump when I bought it and it fired up immediately

          One more thing with AAN

I have remembered one more mechanical job for AAN conversion - it's power steering pump. You need to fabricate custom mount for it. I have used smaller, cone shaped pump from B3 (don't forget to change fluid to G200, because ATF may be harmfull to it). Pressure hose neded to be prolonged, and local hydraulic shop added longer tube without problems.

Would the newer fluid be harmful to the steering rack ?

I was just looking into ordering the flywheel/clutch plate.. Do I also need another pressure plate or can I keep the stock one from my 016 gearbox?

nah just buy a new clutch kit(includes the thrust bearing also ,the standard genuine clutchs are about £170 from quattro corner. And are good for upto 350bhp.Or you could spend a bit more and get an uprated one.

I'm running febi6162 steering fluid (G200 analog) for 6 years now. No problems with CQ rack. Of course you need to wash system a bit (change fluid several times), to eliminate old fluid, because as far I understand mixture of atf and g200 is really aggresive on seals.

Regarding clutch - you need to use turbo items. Buy a kit as spink suggested.

Question about the intake. The stock intake box/filter is way too large too fit, so I'll have to come up with something else. Any suggestions on what would be best, conefilters, what brand, and what about best placement?

Best thing that comes to my mind is urq20v airbox. However you need to cut body a bit.

I went Apex'i cone solution. However I was warned on this forum, that Apex'i filters can cause swirls which make MAF go nuts. So I've added trumpet with anti swirl plates from S4 airbox, and used S4 airbox heat shielding to shield cone. It sucks heat, but not as badly as it could. I have made adapter by glueing trumpet to Apex'i with that two component epoxy clay, don't know how to name it properly. Also there are bolts to secure it .

Note, that now aluminium bracket, bolted to the old airbox frame - holds all the stuff together. It's not the best solution ever, but it works.

Okay, so the KV is out of the car. I've got new 034M motor and box mounts. Can I use the old "brackets" from the KV, where the motormounts bolt on to?

From what I recall - yes you can.

That's great, now that I've got the complete engine and box out guess I'm gonna replace subframe bushings aswell. I've got new springs and dampers lying here, should I replace the strut mounts? Go for original or uprated ones from quattronics or 034m?
