    Hello there. A bit late, but hope will help my comments.

    - Battery.
    Unless there is AAN - no need to relocate. But wiring place is complicated. On B4 it looks like in the picture. Other 3B, ABY intakes will interfere with battery.

    - Oil cooler.
    Stock 3B/MC/KG/ABY oil coolers are small size, but connection and place for them are weird. Requires duct and piping/bending. Maybe some other car makers or some performance part shop will solve it for You. Once again - I choose BMW320 flat and slim.

    - Intercooler.
    On Typ 85 it is allways an artwork. Once again - used to hide A200 IC just under the front grill. With cutom ends.

    - Airbox/filter. Can I use the stock AAN airbox, seems a bit large, any suggestions?
    Easiest way - cone. No stock for typ 85. But your original airbox downpart(modified) with upper side S2 3B will be an issue for better performance. I think there is no chance to place AAN airbox.

    - Braking.
    Check valves must be used with tees for vacuum. After few test drives you will start to dream about big size discs

    - Motormounts. Direct fit?
    Starter side mound does not need to be changed. Left side - use KV leg.

    - Exhaust.
    The same piping for S2. Look to the exhaust discussions.

    - Any other (mechanical) modifications I haven't thought of?
    Custom servopump mount. Better go to newer version of pump. Weight reduction and design.
    Choose generator place. Left side or right side. It will affect piping to IC and intake.
    I used KV type holder on the right side.
    Main radiator: if stock AAN intake - custom brackets/holders for rad is required. Poor cooling because of the angle. If stock rad place - custom intake or some expensive special intake required. Better cooling.

    Keep us informed.

      And one more job: cooling piping to the rad. 3 ways:
      AAN stock too bad for servo, long roote. Not nice looking. Needs drain bolt in top place;
      S2 ABY/3B/ADU water manifold or how it is called. Smart decision;
      AAN manifold cutting, drilling, welding (my way ). Fits like S2.
      My Typ 85 with AAN long time ago.

          Okay, thanks for the help guys. Subframe and parts are blasted and primed, waiting to get sprayed black, and then I can put all the new rubbers and mounts on it, and begin installing.

          Double checking, motor mounts: driver side, KV-leg. Passenger (starter) side, AAN-leg?

            Nice to hear.
            Legs check: starter/exh. side AAN leave in place. Radiator/driver(not UK) place KV leg.
            For akku.... Guys from UK can leave it in place. For the rest - depends on IM. Only AAN, Wagner etc. will fit together.

              One thing left before I can install everything back, change out the clutch. What would you guys recommend? Original or uprated? Sachs sport clutch maybe, but a little expensive. Original costs about 280-300. Looking to spend around 3-400.
