If we can get as many ABY ecu's together i.e. Homefries, MRC generic, Ultimot, MTM etc it would be interesting to plug them all into the same car and do some back to back RR tests on the same RR.
The results for the chips are all over the forum.

Cheap chips suck, if you want to go with another chip thats fine but having run 2 RR days and logged the results I can tell you the two highest rated chips are homefries and MRC.

It's not only about the results, some chips seriously overfuel to reduce EGT ( MTM )and some disable knock detection ( Digi )

I have tried three chips designed to work with the k24 turbo, MRC high and low boost and Homefries.

MRC offer high and low boost maps with the midrange boost being the main difference (c. 1.2 bar and c. 1.6 bar).

Homefries sits in the middle @ c. 1.4 bar.

The MRC high boost requires a really free-flowing exhaust (no cats / 2.75" / 3") and did not work with my car although some of the problems were due to a boost leak that was detected at a later date.

The low boost gives better top end than standard but the midrange boost really doesn't feel as strong relatively although there are gains to be had, I would recommend this chip for completely standard cars as it will work well with standard exhaust system and inlet.

Homefries offers good gains on slightly modified cars like mine and NIPs and also on standard cars such as HPMuirt's.

Si got just over 270bhp on a standard car with an RS2 airbox.

      NIP got 288bhp with a de-catted exhaust.

I was up to 297bhp 'homefried' with RS2 IC, Milltek cat back (original cats are still there) and a modified airbox. With the rest of the Milltek and the SM flywheeel I'm aiming for 300+... The RS2 IC was a bit pointless TBH but it's more about future-proofing it to 400bhp so not overly worried and it can't do any harm.

      BASICALLY:-
      1. If you're planning on leaving the car completely standard then either MRC low boost or Homefries if you plan on doing some mods later on.
      2. For a car with cats and a stainless ehaust with Samcos and a modified or RS2 airbox go homefries.
      3. For 3" turbo back and inlet mods then try the MRC high boost but you can't fit it until you've done the exhaust.

For omefries send a PM to user S2central.net aka Paul. Have a read of the sticky thread here.

For MRC phone Doug on the number listed on their website here.
