    ADU won't start.

    hi

Actually it' s my brother' s car, but problem still there.

In ecu have one fault code:

    00532

If I erase that, it will come back as soon as turn the starter. How long it' s have been there (I mean fault code), noone knows.

Anyway, about 3 weeks since now, brother managed to start the car, but only without maf. If maf was connected, it just refused to start. He using new maf.

Till today I checked some things with brother.
One thing . . . now it won' t start even with maf disconnected.
So we checked spark. In all cylinders have spark (during starter on). We removed fuel pressure regulator to check if there' s fuel problem. So, fuel there. ECU have voltage, maf also.

Car have been unused for a long time. Almost a year, sometimes engine turned on, not any real driving.

    What could we check?

    thanks,
    marek

    Supply Voltage

    -Signal too large
-Signal too small 2234 -Supply voltage greater than 16 volts
    -Alternator faulty
-Starting with two series connected batteries
    -Poor earth connection to J220
    -Battery discharged
-Current drain with igntion off -J220 destroyed

-Idling speed not within specified range
    -Voltage below 6 volts
    -Engine not running -Test voltage

    -Check battery charge state
    -Test voltage supply

ehh, we haven' t check it Last time it charged just fine, around 14V.

                thanks,

edit: last time when my s2 alternator died, I was able to start engine and drive at least 40km.

Are you using the main key and not the spare as it could be an immobiliser problem?

If it's the Hall Sender it sould give a fault code on the ECU...

                          Hi

                          Bit of update

Today we had some time to test it again. Without maf it' s possible to start the engine, if maf connected, it just won' t start. So I have one "spare" maf and I tried that. We managed to start the car with maf connected, but still it don' t idle. As soon as let TPS off, it will die.

One thing that I noticed. With WOT turbo start' s to spool, like antilag or something. So, looks like timing retarded somehow pretty much. So, we tested car without map sensor connected, nothing changed . . . car just don' t care if map connected or not.
After that I connected vag - com and checked realtime number.

Absolute pressure? Is this map sensor value? It' s always showing 981,2 mbar, no matter if it' s WOT or just ignition turned on.
One more thing. When playing with TPS, sometime voltage value dropped to 7V.

                          ECU problem?

                          thanks,
                          marek

                            ECU problem? thanks, marek
Marek: Probably not the ECU (at least there are still other possibilities to consider)

Just for information sake, the MAP sensor is in Absolute Bar, so your reading is basically atmospheric pressure (but you must be living on a mountain ).

Your problems sounds, to me, like a failed TPS or a bad TPS connection. Once, on my AAN powered 93 S4 (basically the same as an ABY or ADU), I had disconnected the TPS and moved the intake hose to get room to do something on the engine. After I was done, I put the hose back on but forgot to re-connect the TPS. Started the car but off-idle (as I tried to rev the engine a bit), it was awful (stumbling, missing, etc). For 10 seconds I was confused (WTF?)

                            Solution: Reconnect TPS.

There is a guy on the AW Original S-cars forum that recently has had similar issues to you. The solution was a new TPS. (PN 078 133 154 - common to almost all older Audi's). But you should start with making sure the TPS connection is clean electrically, including the use of contact cleaner and dielectric grease.

Go here to learn more about the TPS:

                            http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/207532.phtml

                            Hope that's the solution.

If you need more info about the MAP sensor, have a look at this:

                              update

I toked TPS from my 3b and tried it in ADU. Nothing changed.

3b and ADU TSP are different part nr.

Problem still there . . . I hope brother can get another ecu for testing.

                              Any ideas anyone?

                              thanks,
