I'm thinking about installing 2 or 3 gauges to the steering column plastics. So I need to modify the top part of those to accommodate gauges. Yes, I'll probably have to modify that plastic strip underneath the instruments to make room for gauges, but then I should be able to install the gauges without blanking any vents, avoid a-pillar installation, and get them to decent place for viewing pleasure I think I can get the placement so, that those extra gauges won't block any needed part of the instruments. (I don't have adjustable steering column)

I got this idea when I was browsing around for different mounting solutions (pre made) and when I saw that kind of mounting solution for VW passat I just knew I had to have one

i have a perrin column mount pod. i have a greddy eboost 2 EBC and a defi boost gauge in there. i can see all the rpm and up to 140 on the speedo no worries with 60mm gauges.

i have a vent mounted VEMS EGT/WB02 gauge in the forum GB pod.

cant fault any of um. the perrin is silver as its ddesigned for a subaru but nothing a coat of black wouldn't sort if that worried you.

S4 oil pressure guage in S6

Guys, ive knocked a big end bearing on my urS6 due to the fact that there is no oil pressure guage, just a simple volt guage. Question, can the volt guage be replaced with the oil pressure guage out of S4? Are the wires lying loose at the cluster and is the oil pressure sending units the same on the 2 cars?

Its not that easy, the three small gauges share a single circuit board so if anything you would have to change all three as a unit. Its disappointing as i wanted to remove the clock from the S4 and replace it with a volt meter.

With a lot of time and patience it may be possible to split the circuit board and hard wire around it. I didnt fancy cutting up the two to try it.

On a side note a complete S6 dash will work in an S4, main difference between them is the digital odometer on the S6 version.

Will be easier to re-wire for adding an oil pressure guage, like this maybe?

                        Gauges...

Here's what I've got in my cockpit:

Starting at the top left is a 30 lbs boost/vacuum gauge, then its EGT. On top of th steering wheel its a wideband gauge. In the 3 slots on the right of the instrument cluster is oil pressure, oil temperature and volts. The boost, EGT, oil pressure, oil temp and volts are all Autometer. The boost and EGT gauges are the larger 2 5/8" while the oil and volt gauges are the 2 1/16". The instrument cluster was removed and surgery performed to install the 3 gauges on the right.

Hap, wit dakine gauging of interest not from Evahboost, Maguire

I am not running any additional guages yet but I damned well should be! As stated, the oil pressure guage on the URS4 isnt the most credible beast but its ok for a close guestimate. I am mildly interested in your sense of urgency given the conservative power you appear to be running - I would imagine you could throw a hundred more ponies under the hood before you even start to stress your setup - dont get me wrong - I have seen horror stories arise from **** poor sensors and what has translated to poor driver information and I mean serious 'holes in your pocket' scenario!!!

                            Just my /2c worth!

I use Vems EGT+wideband gauge and GlowShift boost gauge on the A-pillar. Have one one of three places empty so far for ext-pressure...

If you want OEM stealth, the TDS-1 supports an oil pressure input from the stock 5 bar sender found on the early urs4 (which will swap onto the later cars / and the urs6.

EFI Motorsport is a company dedicated to providing quality upgrade parts, hardware, software, tuning, and service for a range of European vehicles.

the oil pressure feature is part of the tds-x which is an add-on module we will be releasing shortly. It also brings in the ability to read fuel pressure and egt as well.
