I've made a bracket to mount an ABY hall sender on my 7A head, but I need to know where exactly to put the sensor.
Does anyone know how many degrees are between the sensor and the window in the cam wheel at TDC? Obviously I'd like to get it spot on, and I don't have an ABY head to compare.
However, I think you really need to find a ABY, AAN or ADU head to get the measurements from.
Thanks, I know roughly where it goes, but I know how important it is to get the hall sender positioned exactly right.
I know someone local with an ABY head, so I'll try to get there over the weekend to measure up. I thought I'd check here first, just in case someone knew off hand how to position it correctly.
Keep me updated on this
I have bought a 7A head for my rs2 and are about to do the same.
I am searching for a ABY/ADU head to use for measureing in my cnc machine with a
touch probe to get the exact pos of the hallsender.
I will fabricate mounting brakets for the hallsender.
I will public the whole machining process and measures in pictures.

Well I'm not sure how important the hall sender position is after reading this post. Strange, as I know the 3B one needs to be spot on for the car to start or even run right.
Thanks to Audiman and a spare ABY head he had, I have now marked the position of the hall sender at TDC on my cam pulley, so I can transfer it to my 7A head. I just need to get some time to work on it.
Stu, it goes on the front under the cam pulley, if you find the most inaccessable position then that's spot on
If I was at work at my world leader in metrology equipment, I'm sure I could give you the coordinates to within a nat's bollock but I'm not at the mo so sorry.

No worries Andy. I got it sorted after a night with the milling machine and the pillar drill.
I just need to find a decent pulley now, to replace that POS ABY item.
There are a few adjustable ones around, be worth the extra hassle as you can retard it a bit (or advance it if going for 2 off 7A cams) and get the most out of it
