I have a S2 ABY with the turbocharger, exhaust manifold, camshafts and injectors of the RS2, and I would like to know if I can buy an ECU of RS2 and to mount it. Or the wiring of the RS2 and the S2 is different?
I hope you are planning a custom remap as the ABY has a FPR of 4.0 bar, while the RS2 ECU software is expecting a 3.8 bar FPR (as standard on RS2). This could result in wrong A/F mixtures.
Another thing is that the camshaft pulley is differernt on the RS2 compared to the ABY. Again if you plan to use unmodified ADU (RS2) software you might get into timing problems. The opening window size and degrees of the ADU cam-pulley is smaller/different, so the timing with the HALL sensor is different as well.
However I am not sure how much this influences the ECU calculations.
I can't remember 100% for sure but I think there is enough adaptation in the RS2 ECU to run with 4bar FPR from the ABY. It would be a little rich at WOT. Maybe some of the other chaps have some BTDT info on this.
I had never noticed the different cam pulley on the RS2 before - is that the reason for its oddball timing setup at one tooth off the mark ?
I have a S2 ABY with RS2 exhaust manifold, turbo, exhaust camshaft and injectors, and I'm searching for the best and cheaper way for have about 360 - 380 HP and about 500 nm.
What is the best way to do it? Buy a RS2 ECU and use your RS2 chips? Or change my sensor map for a 300 kPa sensor map and use a pair of your ABY chips for ABY with RS2 hardware?
