    Cheers Andy, thought it was
I do kinda like the woosh , I just found it odd that the quattro doesn't do it with the same type of valve fitted (both cars have standard airbox's and filters too).

The standard ABY airbox masked a lot of the sound. Removing the inleyt trumpet opened up the sound a lot. Get a spare aibox and have a play, it's pretty good fun and sounds better IMO, don't think there are any performance gains other than if feelin faster becaiuse it sounds it.

I like the idea of the Turbosmart stuff, it's pretty clever and almost gives the best of both worlds option. Although it still vents metered air and so does not help the car to run correctly.

I have not had no problems with vented air on mine due to the adjustment on the top of it, I've got a box to have a play around with soon just gotta find a glue gun soon.

How much noise can you hear from it just out of interest?

Glue gun? Wouldn't bother, just cut the whole front off

Noise is audible and about the right volume, doesn't draw attention outside but gives the grin factor inside.

Check out Gt500 and lloyd as they are running hks ones iirc which sound the best by far but afaik they had problems with the car stalling as there is no adjustment on them for idle.

closest to a s1 that i've heard and a nice sound i've been tempted to go and get one for mine in replacement for what i have now.
There is a nice adjustment screw thank you, no leaks at idle. My car stalls after a long run, did it with the crappy original. Dump valve aint the problem.

Ah ok sorry I didn't know it had an adjustment on the top, just remember asking you about it at adi this year as it sounded just right. I might go for one at some point

I like that vid from Anders... Where some comedian as put a 'duck call' whistle into the outlet of a BOV - makes me wonder what the funniest noise you could have from something similar rigged up there... Like a really loud field whistle or phantom raspberry blower. Could brighten up an otherwise dull day if you managed to hack that onto a friends car

My scooby had a VTA on when I bought it - quite aside from its crappy tendency to leak boost at part throttle. It was just embarassing for when you were pootling around town or on the motorway.

Did sound quite nice when you were booting it around the country lanes at full chat though!

Anyway I swapped back to a stock re-circ and what a difference! The car still wooshes when you are pushing on (probably audible as a result of the K&N) but it pulls smoother, it runs loads better when its cold and economy has improved.
