    Piston Broke

Just thought I'd share my latest photo with you!
    Piston and Rod

    Bore of block

Rally car is now sponsored by Fyfes!
Got the new rods (Scat) but waiting to see if the block can be relined and what bore it ends up at before ordering pistons.

Another 3B special then - that sucks...

What bent it - crazy torque (unlikely with 34mm restrictor) or Paschens law induced dissy-cap spark-hopping ?

How about cold day and the boost gauge was against the stop at 1.5bar. Now got myself a 2.5bar gauge.
Car has to run the 34mm restrictor but was the quickest it has ever been..until... well the rest is history.
Head is ported and polished to homologation papers. Inlet is ported, polished and matched to head. Cams are Piper bespoke and 'blue printed'. tubulat exhaust manifold. Mapping was done by MRC. Never had it on a rolling so don't know power or torque but how about a lot!

Bit off topic, but can you elaborate on that Pembo? Are they dimensional specs for the ports, and where would one find such info?

            Thanks,

            Mark.

Pembo - I simply MUST get a copy of those homologation papers. I did try in 2002 with the RAC-MSA but it had just expired and I was unable to find them. I have wanted that info for SOHHHHH long to make healthy dimensional and weight calculations for this engine build.... I've started cutting the head already but have avoided expanding the ports too much for fear of going too far and the homologation papers will give me greater confidence.

I'll pay the going rate for a good quality copy of those papers - do have them for GpA and GpN ?

Pembo - I tried that before with the RAC-MSA. They took the feckin money off me, then told me the doc was unavailable and I can't even remember if I was able to get the money back. When did you get your docs. This was in 2001 or 2002 when I tried. Maybe its better these days...

EDIT - just hit that site and I see the option for LAPSED homologation papes is now available. This could be brilliant
