    8mm ht leeds for a 3b

just need your thoughts please i'm looking to replace my ht leeds on my 3b with some 8mm ones. i have been trying to look through some threads but with no luck to what you all have used. all i have found on the net so far is the Magnecor stuff but they has a note about not using oe suppressed spark plug boot. now not knowing if this maters or not i am unsure if they are ok or not.
    cheers

I use 8.5mm red KV85 Magnecor leads with no problems at all... due to their design they don't need supressed boots... to quote Magnecor... Metallic
Inductance Suppressed Conductor will suppress EMI indefinitely...
nothing bad to say about them....

Hmm, to be honest, I am not sure whether the correct fitting type is M4 or DIN...
I suspect this is not difficult to find out though....!
Sorry I cant tell you that one......!
            Chris

although, if you look HERE you can see pictures, I think it looks like DIN type, but you will be able to see from what the dizzy looks like and the description here

I had 7mm Magnecor's on my old quattro, as well as 8mm one's on three other cars in the family. No probs with any of them, quality leads as far as I'm concerned.

In fact, I've just ordered some KV85's for my current quattro.

I got mine from www.spark-plugs.co.uk. I got my last set from them and was pleased with the service and reasonable prices.

They are however seemingly made to order, so I'll have to wait a week or so to get them.
They cost £118.57 all-in for the RR, but should hopefully be fit-and-forget for a good long while and handle the heat a bit better (my o.e. set's insulation has gone fairly hard).

The set I fitted to my old car also stated that they were m4/pin fittings, but they plugged straight in. So I'm not sure if there will be an issue there or not. I'll let you know.

Well, I fitted my KV85's today and they went on a treat.
The fittings at the dizzy and coil are exactly the same as the o.e. leads, and so of course plugged straight in. As did the connectors at the spark plugs too (the top end is a slightly different design, but arguably better as they help prevent any cr@p from entering the plug holes).

And despite their slightly larger diameter, the KV85's do indeed fit very nicely under that black plastic cover over the leads too.

Had probs with Magnecors on a few old Golfs, get a set of OEM Bosch ones instead, much better quality IMO.
