Hard wire the FP to the battery using a relay, that should get you a little bit more.

This seems more and more like fuel to me. My car was really low today and I eas doing a couple of WOT runs and there were a couple of hiccups that I can only assume are from the fuel being thrown around in the tank and the pump not getting a 100% supply Reminded me of your predicament.

Things to check are fuel pressure at WOT (get a gauge fitted), fuel filter (has this ever been changed?) and the voltage drop at the fuel pump.
