    3B wot problem

    Hi,

Actually it' s my friends audi 200, but still 3b engine, so maybe someone could help.

He bought car without engine 2 years ago and now tried to start the car with "new" engine.

Main problem is WOT. When I press WOT, engine going to "choke", in any rpms and going to lose rpms. Looks like ingnition is retarded, because in this time turbo starts to spool, even rpms goint to drop.

When I trie to play with throttle, all seems to ok, no matter what rpms but as soon as I make pedal to medal, problem there (no matter, if car idles or running).

    So far tested:

    Another ECU/TPS/MAF,nothing.

    what may cause this thing?

    thanks,
    marek

Check the ECU grounding is correct on the engine, same for the coil packs. BTDT.

          Maf

Sounds exactly like the issue I had a few weeks back, turned out to be the MAF faulty.

as I said before, we have tested another MAF (with is working perfectly other car), and tested boost leaks, nothing.

              what else could I check?

              thanks,

Can you hear the throttle switch working? If its still in idle mode it will cause same issue.
Best to get VAG-COM attached and see what codes come up.

boost leak if it feels like its 'bubbly' at wide open throttle IMO

I have changed TPS, witch also working just fine with other car

Vag - com doesn' t see any problem with the engine - no any fault code.

i thought at wot these cars went to set map, as in only maf and hall sender have input? have you checked hall sender? also could be anything ignition related, i had a faulty hT lead but only ever misfired on full throttle. lack of a good spark can feel like 'choking'
