    Thank you Mr. Casey

I've just got back after spending a couple of hours fitting my fancy snub mount kit as manufactured by Andy and what a difference! The engine is no longer trying to jump out of the car and into the one in front on every gear change, just what an improvement

As a bonus, whilst under the car the postie turned up with my 034 engine mounts to fit! The only problem being that they look to beautiful to fit to the car where you can barely see them.

I've also found that I will need to replace a couple of bits underneath the car that seem to have rotted away, such as the metal part of the inlet to the oil cooler which blew away in the wind when the plastic part wasn't being supported by the bumper. I might just make a stainless one at work though.

    Cheers again

Tis quite the difference innit ?

I modified an SQ snub and used a stiffer mount from an A4 TDi to great effect. Andy's version is more plug and play though.

I've got a SQ one lying around as well, but then the GB came up for this, so I just left it in the box for just now. Got to fix my DS2500s and new discs and she'll be like a new car.

so how much difference is the snub upgrade? i just done solid subframe, powerflex arm bushes, suspension, top mounts etc. is it worth upgrading that too.

Glad you enjoyed it, sorry it took so long to arrive. It coincided with me getting ill I've got an early design on my car and it makies a fair old difference. Unfortunately the chap that made them is disappearing for a year so not sure I can make any more but I'll find out.

I've got standard subframe mounts, but hopefully going for alloy ones in a while, QRSport topmounts and old standard mounts and the difference with the snub mount is huge. When I went away for a quick test drive I thought that there might not be as big a difference under hard acceleration, but after now having gone for a good blast there really is a big difference. I'd recommend it to anyone, there is a little extra vibration, but nothing really worth talking about, especially with the setup that you have on your car.

I've not noticed any differnce but I'm used to it by now. It was a good mod when I did the S2Avant mod using a Golf cup but the alloy one is Uber.

Equal credit goes to als2avant, shame his car was wrecked as I think he'd have been up for manufacturing more toys for the S2s... perhaps he still will.
