no point messing with old RS2 turbos.

i paid 250 ish for the wagner and 399 for a brand new precision SC61 turbo.

This seems to be a Garret hybrid, incredibly cheap, and mahoosive power (650bhp).

How laggy is it? What mods have you made to the engine to handle this power?

its a fairly long story but ill cut it short.

i bought the car standard. i then had corey do a 3" system and fit the manifold with the turbo and had the downpipe made at the same tiome to save ovwerall cost. i limped it home then fitted the VEMS and tuned it. it made 321hp and 325lbsft at 5krpm running lean after that. i then fitted the 650cc injectors. about 2 months ago i had an issue where when foot down i went for another gear and felt the engine and full car wobble. i have since stripped it, fitted the scats i had in the boot and had the pistons skimmed just over 1mm. i had the head cleaned up and done bushes, suspension roll bar the lot. i expect to drive her sunday for the first time in a while.

i thikn the actual problem was a dodgy cam pulley now or maybe a plug. not a rod. i was runnig 1.4 bar at the time estimated around 420hp.

the turbo is great. boosts fro0m around 3k with a PROPER BOOST CONTROLLER and pulls till you **** yourself. i bought the turob for a 16vt and was told to expect 500-550whp at 24-26psi. im gonna run it to around 1.7 bar on the standard skimmed pistons then see whats what.
