    There ain't much difference between a 3071r.82 and a 3076r.63

What makes the 3071 a good turbo is it's super quick spool with a 3 inch downpipe. A .82r would put what 400-500 rpm on that spool?

My advice if you have a 3071 already try the larger hotside, if buying from new buy 3076r then you can upgrade to .82 and 500 plus bhp without changing turbo.

They share the same hotsides so they would be interchangeable.

Fair enough, thanks for the info. IMO, still possiby too big on a 2.2 for daily use though, your 2.5/6 will be nice and driveable though.

        I agree.

Aronmatic2 says the 3076r.63 was good for everyday use though. Person to ask would be 4wheeldrifter but his car will be launched at the same time as the London Olympics

          You mean 2013?

Aron was looking at 2876s as well...

In his original S2 thread he ran the 3076.63 and the 3076.82 on his 2.2 car. He states the 3076.63 is better for the 2.2 and the 3076.82 was good for the 2.5 stroker.

The 2876 is the older 25/40 turbo which garrett dropped and replaced with the 3071r. Don't know the difference between them by Pekkas had IIRC around 430 for the 2876.

To be honest what's in a number chase driveability rather than bhp.

Damn.. that is even cheaper, but will i feel any difference?i mean getting a .82AR for the 3071R is kind of the cheapest thing to do,as i dont have to buy any manifold or anything, all i have to do is remove the turbo, change the hotside and see if i need a remap or not!

but is it going to be any more different?I know they say the 3071R can reach 470hp crank(on a free flowing engine i suppose and a cold day...) but..?

If you've already got a 3071 then it might be best to get the .82 and see what it's like, it'll not be a massive job and if it's not what you want then you can sell everything off anyway and go to G35 setup as a 3076 will not offer much more without going for bigger a/r.

What about Nitrous? You could also use it as an IC spray :mischeif:

Yeah but you can use NOS to super-cool the IC, not sure what that does to the structural integrity of the IC mind as thermal shock could be a problem, it cools further than simple water IC sprays.

Difference with the 3076 will give more torque than the 3071 roughly 200 nm
