about time i replaced my lambda sensor but i have been recommended to get a wideband from innovate motorsport. Can the motronic adapt to the signal from a wideband. Im going to use the extra signal to monitor air/fuel to make diagnostics easier. If performance/fuel economy is improved then thatll be a bonus. wideband lambda

Innovate LC-1 has two analog outputs. Either can be programmed to simulate a narrowband. On my K-Jet Lambda Golf, I have programmed for 15.3 at cruise and 12.6 at WOT, giving me closed loop feedback at all loads, ideal when runnning E85 (and various mixes of E85 and petrol)
On the RS2, I'm still using the stock narrowband to feed the ECU, and use the wideband (placed right in front of one of the cats) to monitor AFR for tuning.1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)

I've just had a second Lambada flange welded into the DP so I can run a separate WBO2 and leave the OE narrowband to do it's thing... Slightly more expensive (!) but th Moronic gets what it needs that way.Cheers'en, AndyC

I've never understood why there are so many type of probes, for instance the Coupe & Avant / RS2 have different probes why is that?
Maybe for a different thread
PS LSU4 or LS4U these are two different parts apparently
LSU4 looks like the VEMS one http://www.phattransmissions.com/VEM...de/README.htmlComment

it varies due to technology and time from what i gathered. a brief description of how i understand it. there are only really 3 types on NB probe. the universals are the same as the facory ones without the plug.
the first probes had no heat element so it took a while for the exhaust gas to heat them to a temperature where they could return figures to the ecu.2 wire
the next lot were heat element based. this get you to probe control faster these are 3 wire.
the final type is the 4 wire with a secondary ground. not sure of the reasoning here other than to bulk out the weakest point in a 0-1v feedback which is resistance.Comment

so a wideband can be fitted to motronic but has no benefits over a narrowband other than being able to use an A/F gauge.
A wideband will still only see either stoich, rich or lean and no in between?Volcano ABY coupe
