There are a lot of # S4T's around.
Commonly found on Wartsila & Scania marine diesels.. (12-16litre) they range from 450 up to 1300hp diesel engines.

You can identify yours here: http://www.turbo-product.com/Schwitzer/S4T.ASP
Can't find any flowcharts.. so i can't make any hp guesstimates.
Be aware that this will be a laggy turbo, low turbinespeed, sick pressureratio's.

1300hp on a diesel What are you trying to build?!

                example:
                A 12.6 litre 400hp DAF truck uses a GT4294 compressor..
That makes about something like ~800hp on a petrol engine.
So i hope you are seeing my point.. your S4T is mahoosive!
Try to get a hold on a compressor map/flowchart. This must be too big for a 5-cilinder application.

Holset HX82 makes 1200hp max. on a diesel.
Corrected flowrate statet on the Holset site says it'll hit 1,5kg/sec. That would make approx. 1800hp on a petrol engine.

And that £70 is a bargain! you could always convert it to a pulsejet engine

Any more bargains from where you came across this puppy?

maybe worth 70 quid in scrap weight.

id say thats marine. its too big for a fire engine anyway. wonder what perkins motor that is for.

The S4T's are in the same rate as the new BorgWarner S487-series.
So the A/r on this one must be huge, something close to 1.45 or bigger.
The big 400-series with 87mm inducer support upto 1200-1900hp.

going to make a manifold and exhaust to suit it thats if it will fit under the hood l

lol these turbo's have sick pressure ratio's upto 5!
So this thing will make sick boostpressures before surging.
Don't know about the hotside, that might be far too big
                        What are your hp goals?

Cash your oversized turbo in for a start mate its as much use as a handbrake in a canoe, you will be looking at steel internals and uprated pistons, is it for track or road
