    Roose Motorsport Hoses

This is Paul from Roose Motorsport Performance Silicone hoses here.
I've been reading your topics for silicone hoses for some time now. I read that you are having trouble with lead times being as much as 5 months because of the tooling being owned by someone else.
Also seen that there are group buys now and again. (which i must say the guy is doing a fine job as these take some organizing).

Let me tell you where i stand.

    Having read certain articles like:

Yeah whatever, its a free country... But the Samco hoses are perfectly up to the task as a multi-layered, reinforced, flouro-lined hose. That Nomex layer doesn't add any value in my opinion - sure its hot down there, but the Samco material doesn't fail at such high temps. I've ran them for years - so have umpteen others - no heat issues.

This Nomex layer is pure FUD... And I think your reference to my post about Samcos in your post was the delivery issues that you were having on the Roose items - I was just offering to help someone else out if they were stuck for hoses.

    Peace already.

Purveyor of HomeFries and Exclusive agent for Samco hose kits (S2/RS2)

There are only 10 kinds of people that understand binary - those that do, and those that don't

Firstly. Nomex is rated at 240 degree's C and any hose that is situated between the turbo and the intercooler should be made from this material or other high temperature silicone. The heat from the turbo charger makes this hose very hot and with all the heat and oil mist the silicone goes soft. A soft hot hose with a prelonged period with 20 psi in it, the hose needs to be as strong as you can get it. Also the hose clips can degrade a hot soft hose quickly. Nomex will prevent this from happening.
I have Norwegian Escorts and Sierra cosworths running 900 BHP with this spec of hose.

Secondly. Lead times. Its simple, When payment has been recieved your hoses will be despatched the same day or 24hrs later.

We manufacture the hoses, so you are dealing with ourselves from purchase to delivery. Any problems, call our mail order line. We have dedicated staff on hand to sort out any problems straight away. Tel 01522 787187

This leads me to selling hoses.
As some of you know i already have the ABY / ADU boost hose kits up and running.
I am willing to make the tooling up for the complete car, as in boost, coolant, ancillary and breather hoses. Also other Audi models.
I work on a basis as you help me out and i will help you out. So i am offering one person who can supply me with a full compliment of Original Audi S2 ABY hoses, a new for old deal. Meaning i keep your original Audi hoses and i supply you with a brand new set of silicone hoses in either Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, Orange, White, metalic gold or metalic silver, when they are out of development, free of charge.
When they are out of development they will go onto my web site where you can purchase them with all major credit and debit cards, paypal, cheques, postal orders and cash sent registered post. Alternatively you can call our mail order line and pay by the same means.
I will also be available for group purchases at discounted prices, and i will post out all orders to mainland UK for free.
    My web site is www.roosemotorsport.co.uk

I have posted a picture of my own car to show you the quality of my work so you know that when you purchase hoses from ourselves you are assured quality.
Sorry its not an Audi but i think you'll get the picture.

    Best regards Paul Roose

    Greetings and

I, like many others I suspect, am still running OEM hoses on a 14 year old car on the 'if it ain't broke...' principle. However I have some major work to do soo, as as I will be disturbing the hoses, I plan to upgrade to silicone.

To be honest, I am torn between Samco, SFS and Roose as I cannot really see any difference between them so assuming I hear good things about them all, I will almost certainly will go for the combination of the cheapest and fastest delivery...so welcome to the mix

I am not in a position to give you a set of water hoses (shame as a free set of silicones would be nice - although not sure about in gold ), but I hope that someone can as I am all for heathly competition

    Cheers n

Can I ask how have Roose hoses are combating the fact that the Audi PCV system sends hot oil vapour through the boost system if they are not fluorolined?

Does the Nomex layer resist the oil vapour?

I've got Roose boost hoses on my S2, rang them up on Wednesday afternoon to enquire about delivery. I was told that they didn't have any in stock but they quoted a good price so I ordered them, they were delivered 10am Friday morning. Can't fault service like that.

                Paul...

Will you be able to do more than just the ABY...plenty of 3B owners on here with the oldest hoses if they are still original.

Whilst I have the samcos and cannot complain to date...they have worked well and would seem to be as robust as the day they were fitted, however a top notch beather setup would be a fantastic option. There are some odd shape and diameter reducing sizes down there and any help to get a cost effective and resistant solution would be great.

                Cheers

At this point, after contacting various other hose manufacturers including Samco only to be disapointed, I would be more than willing to help out if you can make a set of 20v 7A breather and intake hoses.

5 month lead time on Samco's - mmmmm - yet more FUD... Yes a long time ago there was a long lead time related to some 3B hoses - or maybe it was the first water kits with some reworking on tools to get things right. All tooling for Samco hoses on 3B, ABY & ADU - boost and water is in place...

Lead time on orders with Samco is typically 4-6 weeks cos guess what - they nor I can afford to carry stock - everything is made to order. Sometimes on very large orders it can run to 8 weeks. I have never hidden this from anyone and always made it clear on the need for prepayment. Occasionally I'll take a gamble on some extra sets in popular colours but thats all.

I still think the Nomex layer is a bit of marketing hype but OK - its a free country... The flouroliner is more important for oil resilience as otherwise the silicone just perishes over time. You pays your money, takes your choice etc etc.

I'm not trying to pour cold water on Roose here - they can make hoses for the space shuttle for all I care - but I don't want any silly rumours and misperceptions to get confused with the facts wrt the Samco S2/RS2 items that have been in play for a long time already.

OK, let's cut to the chase. To replace both air and water hoses is gonna cost us punters 500 of our hard earned pounds!

So, before we do that, there seem to be three issues here, of which two we fully understand, price and delivery time. The thrid seems to concern the contruction in terms of both layers and materials, which I atleast do not understand.

Therefore, at the risk of getting caught between a war of words, but for the good of the other simpletons out there (although it could just be me )......What are the guarantees offered by the various manufacturers in terms of: -

                      1. Replacement due to heat/oil damage/fatigue etc
                      2. Replacement due to poor fit (therefore rubbing on standard OEM parts)
                      3. Duration of above guarantee/waranty?
                      4. Anything else you care to mention?

                      Cheers n

also the ADU has one different water hose which was never made on the samco kit.Personally the samcos i have already are very good, but i would like to have an extra water set with that hose made,as it is the only one i kept from the originals.

Our red oxide silicone we use with nomex cloth has a blend of flurosilicone mixed with it.
