That device is only £60 quid (ish) on that Danish site - about two-three times price of stock N75 but if it really is more reliable and is plug and play then its a no brainer... Think I have to get one too in the name of research. Nice find guys - could be a nice tweak with more reliable boost control than stock N75 which has been blamed for some engine destruction when it fails - allowing dangerously high boost spikes.
Turbosmart solonoid replacement for N75?

The valve works by rapidly shutting on and off, not just being in the on or off state which is where the duty / cycle comes into it.Bit confused actually.
I thought that the duty cycle used on the valve was generated by the ECU? If this is then case, then I pressume that the valve simply needs to have same open/close specs as the N75 valve.
I was thinking that you could make a small setup where you give the two valves the same voltage and then apply pressure and meassure what the pressure is at the other side?
Or maybe I'm completely off here.
I'm going from aftermarket ECU comments in forums where mapping of the valve can be seen and in most cases the duty had to be reduce by a 1/3 to 1/2 to control boost the same as with an N75 valve.
I had heard comments the Turbosmart was near enough the same as the N75 but the real proof is in the pudding.
I did PM S2central a while back about duty cycle on the N75 and I think he thought I was off my rocker

So what your saying is that ECU only sends 0V or 12V depending wehter the valve should be open or closed. IE it is not a proportional valve?Comment

@Jonas - with a suitable signal generator and a reliable source of pressurised air like regaulated output from a compressor, you could indeed plot the performance of OEM vs TS device. Note the term duty cycle means there is an on-off component to the control signal - like a square wave - it is the timing of these pulses that controls the solenoid... Not voltage as such (although the signal has to cross certain on-off voltage thresholds for it to switch of course).

i cant vouch on it being the same but its a good solenoid if its the same as my eboost 2 variant. it will regulate upto 60PSI too. excellent control and controlability. i can take a picture of my piping and solenoid if it will help.
best to always use the top port on the gate where possible. to help stop gate creep.
its a silent solenoid not like the apexi one too. if you know what i mean.Comment

The one mentioned is only upto 40 psi at least according to the part no. on the danish homepage. 3 in the indicates it is 40 PSI the 4 in the end indicates it is 60 psi.Comment

Hmm have been looking at the installation notes and I really cant figure out how this should be connected.
Any suggestions? Page 4-6

@Jamo:
What do you base this on?Comment

??? It's in the document and the fact i've run an electronic boost controller on my S2 in the past and it's the same way the stock N75 works.
Do not setup the dual port for top and bottom control of the wastegate until you have single control working.
The problem with top and bottom chamber control is if a) bottom stays pressurised - no boost, wastegate always open b ) Top stays pressurised -boost will rise constantly as wastegate will never open.
It can be done however but not while you are testing the valve out.Comment

I know it is in the document
Just because it says that that way is for an internal wastegate, that confused me since the S2 is runnning an external wastegate.

That two port working is funky... Note the importance of 'boost only' connection to one port in that config. Recommendation is that is achieved at compresor outlet or anywhere BEFORE the throttle valve... Bit curious that... Surely when throttle is open for cruising at steady speed... We have vacuum in the IM for that scenario and I would imagine vacuum on the turbo side of the throttle body so its a bit odd. Now I've never stuck a vacumm/boost gauge on the turbo outlet to verify that but its the first thing you'd need to verify... I'd suggest a suitable 1-way valve from the compressor outlet enroute to that boost valve (and that only) would absolutely assure the prevention of vacuum being presented to that port.
I've found a UK distributor for this device so its gotta be worth a rattle......

do as in the diagram for 2 port connection.
simple as that. thats the best way to do it also.
remember to change the routing on the solenoid before you do the 2 port though.
i think what jamo says is correct use as the N75 if your on motronic. i presume thats whats meant. as a replacement to factory. if you buy eboost 2 do it 2 port.Comment
