    WOT Lambda

My Lambda reading is .89 volts @ WOT. Is this rich enough, I am sure I read on here that above .80 was fine but can't find it now.

What should the reading be at idle and how steady a reading should I get

    cheers

If anything yours is a little on the rich side - perhaps indicating a minor air leak - or of course a duff MAF. These can be a pig to fault find sometimes unless you have enough spare parts of good parentage to try things for a quick result.

My comment about 0.8V was you don't want to be much lower than that at WOT as it is a tad too lean.

Probing the lambda output is a good ready reckoner but it isn't deadly accurate.

at idle the reading should change atleast twice a second and hop from 0.1v to 0.9v with an average of about 0.5v, best to use a scope to see the waveform. I will be bringing one with me to GTI

So a wee bit rich, I will check for air leaks but pretty sure I got them all. I did clean the MAF with carb cleaner but as you say may on its way out.

Thought my Lambda was may be faulty as it jumps from about .1 to .7 or .9 as you say so it sounds ok then.

I have ordered a fuel pressure set up from Burton @ £30ish so will check the fuel proper when I get home.

        cheers
