Sorry Paul but I think the sun got in your eyes. Or the cat ate it. Somethings off.

When we say "Green Top" we should probably say Dark Green = RS2 Injectors (0 280 150 984) 360 cc/min at 3 Bar and light green = 440 cc/min (280 150 558) at 3 Bar. The light green ones are sometimes noted as the Ford Racing Injector.

The ones in the eBay auction appear to my eyes (Vancouver, cloudy, no sun to bother me) to be light green = not RS2 injectors.

      hello urS4boy

and after your solid explanation... wich of both kind of "greens" bosch injectors you would mount for a RS2 380hp project upgrade with RS2 fuel pump + 7A FPR???

      thank you¡¡

Bosch 'Others' - RS2 and other Injector flow rates

Actually... UrS4 boy makes a very good point... I remembered some old threads about this in the past. I dug out the RS2 manual to clarify something:

The official RS2 injectors are rated at 130-140ml on a test bench when left open at RS2 fuel pressure on a test bench for 20 seconds. Thats 390-420cc / min at a fuel pressure of 3.8 bar. Lets call it 405cc bar using averages values.

Using the trusty fuel pressure vs flow rate conversion formula this equates to 359.85cc at 3bar - I'd say we can round that up to 360cc alright.

I just realised how this little misassumption caught me out when remapping another car recently... It was fitted with some sort of 'Bosch green equivalent' injector from an aftermarket supplier and I had them in my head as 440cc and couldn't understand why I couldn't feed enough fuel into the thing approaching 400bhp. I figured the Bosch greens would be up for that easily...

Went up a size in injectors to successfully give us more headroom and now I realise that what was fitted was the 034 RS2 replicas which are rated to work with RS2 software and therefore must be these 360cc injectors. D'oh...

So on RS2 Greens - the bhp limit is about 400, but thats what should be used on chipsets expecting RS2 injectors.

Bosch 'Racing' Greens - the bhp limit is in the 490-500 area.

Both those power levels are at RS2 FPR of 3.8bar of course.

Interesting - I'm sticking this thread.

Interesting, cheaper and higher flow than RS2 injectors...
Are they working on any i520vT (3B/aby/aan/adu...)?
And a custom mapping seems to be necessary?
Ideal for an 380 to 420 flywheelHP application (e.g. gt2871)!?

I reckon YES - you could use Bosch Greens (440ccm) on the 2871 setups at 2.2l with 4bar FPR. At 4bar they are up for ~500bhp on paper at 100% duty cycle... Derate that by 20% for sensible fuelling and you have ~400bhp.

I've been running with something bigger to give additional headroom on the 2871 setup - at owners request to avoid high duty cycle times which can confuse an aftermarket LPG installation... We found the RS2 spec greens going 100% before which pre-empted the move to something beefier... If I'd been quicker to spot the shades of green difference I would have tried Bosch 440ccm first of all, but thats life... Prepares me for bigger things when something else turns up on a 3071 without having to upsize injectors and face all those confounded fuel maps again !!!!

did you saw this ebay link?? these blue bosch injectors are one step up than the originals RS2 dark green ones true???

                      it´s says 375cc/3bar. ..

maybe these injectors can be perfectly valid for RS2 specs upgrades just between the dark greens and the "apple" greens

i have said this before when i was preping for remap with Erdal he pointed out that 3.8bar fpr with rs2 injectors would be enough for the 3071R turbo.
the 440cc(which mine where actually flow tested @ 461cc) were good enough for 550hp according to Erdal.

pre 1997 audis used a single hole injector from new.

AAN/ABY were fitted with 4 hole injectors, it is belived that the 4 hole spray patten atomised and spread the fuel more evenly.

Porsche must of seen something in the 4 hole patten for them to go to the trouble of asking Bosch to make them a specific 4 hole injector for the RS2 engine (ADU).

They could of chosen one of bosch's many single patten injectors

Hello friends, I have a question. On a RS2 with all the original parts, except for the chips, because I have chips for 1,7 bar overboost pressure, is better have the stock 3,8 bar FPR or a 4 bar FPR? And if I mount a 044 fuel pump? Thanks a lot!
