I will be facing soon a problem with misfire on 3B engine coming close to 400hp. I know that Mihnea in http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1336 posted a way of transforming system for 5 coils.
But are there any other ways to do it ? has any one do it ?
I think Tommy Arnberg of Audi 20V_Kruemmer used some Volvo coils. In general, Tommy is a pretty inventive guy. He does more "mix and match" than anybody I have seen.
I've heard of at least two 3B's that were running the best part of 500bhp on the original 3b ignition without any problems. Perhaps you have a weak coil, plug or HT lead?
SteveH: I'm not there yet ... but I'm trying to secure my self and prepare befor I get in to torbule ... but if You are talking that 500HP is still runing on than ... i will sleep ok and 420HP will be posible than ... on stock coil ... or just change the coil to more eficient one
The coil might be a bit weak, but one coil is definitely still ok past 400 HP. Maybe just get a better coil, capacitive discharge or something like that and you should be ok.
