No, even a remap can't fix it, at least if you keep using motronic... read this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5724.com
and specially the posts by Mihnea, I don' know the man, but everybody who does says he's the man in motronic matters.

Even when using the SQ maf and resistors it is quoted as only being something like 80% accurate.

Teryybullwon can produce the correct figures as he had a definitive MRC answer.

i had seen this housing before and realised with all the talk about these MAFs that there is no point in going for them if you plan for big hp.
Aftermarket is pretty much the way, unless you live in Germany and have someone with extreme knowledge of the motronic to fix things for you.
Erdal did tell me that he had no problems mapping a car with a larger MAF,but even so,i decided to defect to VEMS instead...

Erdal and Mihnea are the titans of the motronic ecu. I not going to argue with them and Mihnea advises to stick to the stock MAF.

I'm curious to see the 034 4 inch maf when it's released and if they release the required specs for mapping.

Dont get me wrong,i would stick to them like glus if i were anywhere near them at all times. But even for the time i plan to be in the UK,and then go back to greece, imagine if i had to change one thing of the setup, and then i would have to drive all the way to Germany,or UK just to make an adjustment on the program...This is why i have to settle with an aftermarket ECU.

There are other germans who possibly may know how to tune the car properly with a huge MAF,but again, you have no means to get through to them whenever needed.

A local tuner is a motronic guru and he's done several big bore MAF conversions on 500+ hp cars, and they work great. Maybe he doesn't know that it can't be done?

you are lucky to have such tuner near you!
i went for a drive in a VEMS RS2 today and i can say that it runs pretty well!even not fully tuned!

Never said it can't be done, the accuracy of the readings are the issue.

OK. Accuracy in what range? Low load, high load or both? I've seen cars with large bore MAF's on the rollers and they have been OK as long as the MAF isn't too large. 4" doesn't work good at idle/low load, but 3.5" seems to be OK. Maybe not as good as std MAF on low loads, but no problem to use.
