No, even a remap can't fix it, at least if you keep using motronic... read this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5724.com
and specially the posts by Mihnea, I don' know the man, but everybody who does says he's the man in motronic matters.RCNComment

Please don't quote answers you don't understand
Even when using the SQ maf and resistors it is quoted as only being something like 80% accurate.Originally posted by MihneaNow a question: how do you go about changing the ECU's MAF range? The ECU doesn't have a MAF map that contains air mass vs. output voltage, and this is a very serious issue. Just remapping won't take care of the problem and you'll have intermittent fault codes/limp mode behavior because of the ECU's plausibility checks between MAF and TPS at part throttle.
Teryybullwon can produce the correct figures as he had a definitive MRC answer.Comment

i had seen this housing before and realised with all the talk about these MAFs that there is no point in going for them if you plan for big hp.
Aftermarket is pretty much the way, unless you live in Germany and have someone with extreme knowledge of the motronic to fix things for you.
Erdal did tell me that he had no problems mapping a car with a larger MAF,but even so,i decided to defect to VEMS instead...Comment

Dont get me wrong,i would stick to them like glus if i were anywhere near them at all times. But even for the time i plan to be in the UK,and then go back to greece, imagine if i had to change one thing of the setup, and then i would have to drive all the way to Germany,or UK just to make an adjustment on the program...This is why i have to settle with an aftermarket ECU.
There are other germans who possibly may know how to tune the car properly with a huge MAF,but again, you have no means to get through to them whenever needed.Comment

OK. Accuracy in what range? Low load, high load or both? I've seen cars with large bore MAF's on the rollers and they have been OK as long as the MAF isn't too large. 4" doesn't work good at idle/low load, but 3.5" seems to be OK. Maybe not as good as std MAF on low loads, but no problem to use.Comment
