    Urgent misfire help needed (ABY)

    Gents,

My old girl has suddenly developed a nasty misfire and after some investigation it looks like it's number 5 cylinder that's the culprit.

Now I've just replaced the number 5 coil with a brand new unit but the misfire is still there

    Any ideas?

I'd have to say POS unit... Swap the POS cables over in pairs and see if the bad cyl moves !

If it doesn't move, then its a compresion test next.

Right well I've moved the cables as per Pauls suggestion, and the misfire has now moved from cylinder 5 to cylinder 2. So it looks like it's the POS that's faulty.

I'm now going to try and move the pins in order to make use of the spare channel on the POS, fingers crossed

Well I've managed to cure my misfire now, simply by making use of the spare channel on one of the POS units. Having said that, the guide on the SJMAUTO website was very useful, the only sticking point was getting the pins out of the plugs, but once I had done that, everything else was easy.
