I have an RS2 X member with intercooler, RS2 Manifold, RS2 Turbo that im hoping to get fitted soon. One thing i have a 3'' longlife exhaust with cat bypass pipes but with standard downpipe is this going to be a problem when i come to fit the RS2 bits?

Search for VMAP to find distributors of those - bout 150 dollars last time I checked - hilarious I know... Been trying to find a cheaper 3bar alternative but no dice so far.
      Paul i'm runnig with this:
      http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ies%26_fvi%3D1

Are you running those 100% no problem?

I know what that sensor is and its about 10 bucks MAX... Someone is having a laff at that price. I chose not to use it as the packaging is pretty NON ideal for our application - I've only seen it in that format.

Now the weird thing is that MOTO also do a 250kPa sensor (7 quid approx) - in the exact same looking package as on the VMAP - got me to wondering if the VMAP boy(s) convinced Moto to make a special batch of the 300kPa device in that package... Or it could just be a common package that was cloned / copied in the far east with different internals.

I'm using the Moto 250kPa on the 3B ECU upgrade that I'm working on... Using similar daughterboard idea to VMAP as a nice generic way to mount it in the right place.

            I'm looking for a 400 kPa sensor.

NFW Jamo - you don't need 3bar boost in this lifetime... LOL

Though I guess the problem is what happens when you want 2.2bar of boost ==> 3.2bar MAP...

I suspect the VMAP is your only (expensive) option there.

I've been trying to look into this as well, as I'm shocked how extortionate the 3bar MAP sensor's are.. the one you have from my 3B ECU paul, cost me £165!!

I'm guessing the key is trying to find out where these things come from; surely there must be one factory (probably somewhere in the East) that manufacture these things? Any clue's on the board as to who?

Its all been blacked out and/or potted...

I was amazed at the similarity in the Moto 250kPa MAP (4250AP) to the VMAP sensor, but they couldn't get it to work in 3bar mode - unless they know some tricks. I recall there are some pins on the Moto device which are declared as special use or calibration or something - they might be the trick...

I could have another look at the VMAP one to see if the unused pins track anywhere meaningful - its hooked up to some programmable logic or PIC or somethin which I assume controls the ranging... but the device must have 3bar dynamic range (absolute) for a 3bar application.

Working on a different ECU hack tonight though (shhhhhhhhhhhhh).

Hmph, thought that might be the case... Was it a VMAP in my old ECU Paul? Wondering if that's the old direct-replacement option, or if there's something else available.

Did some research on the VMAPs, trying to get some direct, but I got pointed towards MRC Tuniing (who supplied that one) - 175EUR RRP aparrently, wish I'd known that when we still had 1.4EUR - £!

The only cheap option seems to be an external MAP sensor, sell them @ 034 for $89 and I've seen the same for $60 elsewhere.

I know someone who used a 3 bar MAP with 2.7 bar boost.

I am a happy customer with a VMAP sensor. It was a direct replacement.

can an external GM unit not ne used?

or like said above just use a 3 bar get most of the map correct. its still not guesswork above that.

i know that its better done properly but what not broke doesn't need fixing.
