My damper/balancer pulley is out of shape this one lasted less than 2 years, brand new from audi £330+VAT anyway does anybody have a solid pulley fitted instead ?
I'm thinking of buying this one from maple racing components:
I have same problem "wobbly dampner", after a chat with Aelred i decided to go with the OME dampner again, As it dampen's the stress loading on the crank & helps to make the car run smoother.
i've lightened my crank flywheel and i have aluminium pully .i get a little vibration on load at low reves ,other than that no problems the engine spins up a lot faster
I've asked Paul in MRC to make up an ABY pulley as the ones he'd been making and shipping were for a 3B with v shaped belts instead of the ribbed shaped belts.

Can you remember if you have the opportunity to have the crank, flywheel, and pulley balanced as a set or was the pulley just a replacement for the OEM one and the engine was still in the car?

Thanks.
the crank ,clutch plate, front pully, and flywheel were balanced together .rods and pistons were still in the engine so he calculated the weight of those items then balanced everything
