    Maf connector question

I had a bout of strange running the other day again, coupled with high boost cut outs and lack of power , seeminghly fixed by wiggling the MAF connector. So I've just been looking at the MAF connector with a view to finally changing the socket pins. I tried to pop a pin out by poking a piece of wire down in the normal way but the pin didn't come out. Can someone remind me of the correct way to do these? I dont want to break anything as I havent got the new pins yet. It may be I just need a thicker bit of wire or to push harder..
