    A few Q's guys

    Right here we go guys,

Over the past week the car has done quite a few miles with running about to solicitors etc due tobuying a new flat (much more space and taking advantage of the thing being less than it was 2 years ago at auction )

So anyway back to the car.

Starts and drives fine (other than the front subrame bushes making the steering a bit wooly), at times though and only at times and generally when warm, the car seems to idle a bit rough like it is unbalanced for a few secs then goes back to normal. Oil pressure is 4.5 - 5 bar when driving and between 1.5 - 2 bar at idle.

I have checked all the levels topped all up. It is due an oil service soon (when i get my next few days off) is it going to be worth running some engine oil cleaner through it before the oil change or is that likely to cause a few probs?

Any other thoughts on what it could be? Pulley/balancer?

Oh and anyone any capable of giving a hand replacing the timing belt when the weather pics up ( would liek a hand to help with the timing aspect of it)?
Many teas/coffee and bacon butties and a few beer tokens available

    Cheers guys.

Mine does this when ISV needs cleaning, take it off, wash out with WD40, put it back.

        Right guys.

found out a few more bits about the car yesterday. Some not good some good.

Managed to remove the subframe and fit new gearbox mounts (which were completly shot (not good). Also now fitted alloy subframe bushes and they make a huge difference compared to the old rubber ones(good). On that subject the old ones were so shot the two rear ones just pushed out with the tap from a hammer and bar!!!(not good). Found out what the rattle and vibration was at idle. The cowling that attatches to the gearbox to protect the CV boot from the heat of the exhaust was only held in by hex bolt, the other is I don't know where (not good), but used a good old 8mm bolt to replace it and bobs your uncle rattle gone.

So while under there I decided to replace the wishbones with the ones from my coupe as they had new bushes and the ball joints were only 6 months old. Then the bad news came. trying to undo the drivers side bolt (ball joint end) the thing just kept on tightening an loosening. No thread left on the olt to grip with(bad news) so off to screwfix and a set of nut splittes later. all sorted after getting a chisel end in the eye whilst trying to fix it first time round (not good), now look like I have been having a big fight with the god ol black eye. So all them done went for a drive and all is brill no more little shimmy over small bumps and the steering is alot more positive.

Also fixed the rear windscreen wiper and it appears that the contacts in the switch housing had bent a bit so did not contact using the switch. (good news) then had a go at the ISV with some WD40 and that has made the world of difference too

Just (as it is sunny) cleaned the interior with a good shampoo too

A few more bits to do o get it spot on. The passengers side strut is popped and in need of replacing as well as both front top mounts (RS2's on the way ) and there is a water leak from the water manifold, all crust and pinky round the bolt section that has the spur off to the turbo.
And then had aquick look at the afterrun pump and fan. No joy. all works when the sender is crossed but not under normal turn the key off. Poss immobiliser?????

Cheers just had to get all that off my chest as not been under a car for a while and aching like mad today!!!!.
