    Leaking TB to IM gasket!

I've had an incling that there was a boost leak for a while and the incidentally dle hasn't been the best but I just put that down to old age (the car, not me ). Anyway, got a mate to help me boost leak test the car, whole system from the MAF back, such a good thing to do on an S2 if you've not done one, shows every leak up

Anyway, there was a loud whistling noise but could we find it... could we phook ... so sprayed some leak detection spray at the noise and still nothing, then as the spray dripped down we heard it bite A few more goes identified it was the TB gasket so off came the TB. True enough the gasjet had done something strange and wrinkled up and shrunk slightly There was effectively a gap about 5mm accross on it. Anyway, going to sort a new gasket and have fitted it all back together with gasketing compound for now. Just goes to show, a boost leak test every few 000 miles shows up all sort of things.

One bonus is that after summer 2007 when I whent mental and found everey last leak (271bhp became 294 ) It's not developed any more. No leaks other than from the gasket. Car feels ultra-strong for it too.

Q:- Where is the best parts place for a new gasket? I dread to think of the inefficiency of Bristol Audi Will try QC in the morning.

Thats weird, I think I'd check the TB flange for flatness.
