OMG you are glutten for punshment ..with all the bother you have had ..you started moving the fusebox about to clean leaves

I would start there for the feed wire and hopefully it is something there that is the cause
Run vag.com and do output test with N75 keep it testing on N75 and put multi-meter on fuse 24 and see the power is going there then trace along

have you checked for continuity ( Ω ≈ 0) from the fuse to the WGFV or ISV? This will check that there are no breaks in the wiring on the live side. If it happened after moving the fuse box I would suspect a wire has been pulled from the underside of that fuse holder.

checked wires all way to fuse box as best i could, but from n75 and isv these are in the loom and so no way of properly examinin them. can i wire a live to the n75 ?

            ?

Solenoid will have a low coil resistance so wacking +12v straight to it will kill the poor thing with massive current draw...

You might be able to use a 10k ohm resistor to connect the +12v to the solenoid '+' terminal and connect the '-' to battery neg.

Will be able to make the solenoid switch on/off... need s2central to confirm the driver circuit.

You are best to use a multimeter rather than power and measure the resistance. I would first check that the wire hasnt pulled out the fuse socket as you said you had the fusebox lifted. Also you said the instruments are not working? could be the same fault on another fuse.

instruments are fine now, i used a multimetre but it was just dead...wirin from fuse 24 seems fine, pretty hard to tell as it travels to the loom

did you use the multimeter to check resistance as opposed to voltage? Stick one end on the fuse end and the other lead onto one of the pins in the wgfv plug and one of the pins should give you around 0 ohms.

if none of them show up with very little resistance then there is a break somewhere. I would suspect that there is also a ground in each plug, so you could check that too but i would suspect that because the ISV and WGFV have no power it is just that the wire has broken just under where the fuse slips in.

if motor is runnin and you pull fuse the motor dies, there is only 2 wires under fuse 24 and both end up in the loom.
                        maybe rewirein is only option

You can hook up 12V across the WGFV to test it no bother... The resistance of the solenoid windings is 25-35 ohms... So thats about 0.4A loading when hooked up to nominal 12V supply

Do you have VAGCOM for running output tests ?

You can check if the wiring is broken by using a multimeter, most of them have a beeb function to test wiring, just set it to this mode and connect one end to the desired plug and the other end to the fuse terminal once you have pulled the fuse out. Try both terminals to make sure you get the right one, if you here no noise then the wiring is shot. If you here a beep then its in tact.
