I need to replace the timing pin on my flywheel, is it ok to use a magnetic 4mm drill bit cut to size? Or would something like this be better?

Can you not use OEM one Bo?

Is the Fly wheel on or off the engine?

I bought a new lightened balanced 3b flywheel but it came with an alloy pin, so pulled that out and now need to put a new one in.

          Dont have the oem one.
          Is it available from audi?

Yeah you can get them from Audi. Or take it to a machine shop and have one pressed in

That's the only thing I've known to work. I've heard stories of people successfully drilling, but never seen proof.

The two on the front were designed for a piece of timing analysis gear that I've never seen used. BRM had one but didn't know how to use it - I think Martyn Parker took it when he left.
