can someone tell me what the turbine 'trim' that garrett states is?

i know that turbos have inducer and exducer in their compressor/turbine housings,but i dont know that garrett means by that trim

I did create this thread to specifically talk about the Garrett turbos and colate information about them into one thread.

I have seen that a lot of people keep trying to divert away from garretts to other turbos, i'll happily create one for discussions of those turbo if required.

If that comment was intended to me,please let me know. I think i specifically asked something ABOUT these turbos so that i would know how they compare to others.

It's not directed at anyone in particular mate, it's a case of I dont want this thread to turn into garretts are rubbish buy this turbo instead.

Good call, perhaps an 'Alternatives' thread to discuss alternative turbos other than the G's. However, stating what other turbos are comparable and leaving it there would be useful in the context of this thread, or in a 'Comparisons' thread.

My initial K26-GT3071R 0.63AR results for the current engine/clutch setup. Will post new info once I continue upgrading my Avant

ECU is not yet mapped to full potential of the turbo.
Max boost is 1.7 bar at 3000 RPM till redline. Need bigger IC, stronger clutch and one day a ported cylinder head.

That's one of the best 3071r dyno plots I've seen, if your saying you have 368 at the wheels it equates to 450-460 at the crank.

There's more to be had as you can run 1.9 to 2.0 bar max and then run 1.7 to redline

That's a really strong plot with fast spool. Shows how strong these turbos pull on the S2.

The same boost on an RS2 would be a lot less so that leads me onto the next question-

What sort of boost can you run on stock rods with a 3071?

You could run Bram's setup of 1.7 bar on stock rods it's 518nm safe limit is considered 550nm IIRC, S2central.net is the man for that question.
