    Very nice!
That is excactly the way i asked my question to Justin(and you) when i wanted to decide on the next turbo.

I got different responces though, however it did clarify things quite a bit.

This is why im now down to details that may make a difference especially since most manufacturers have almost different turbos that are very close in range, and have small differences on their power capabilities.

    To be more specific:
CT358 and CT458 have same impellers and different inlet and outles housings.

CT4358? has 4inch compressor housing and something different to the turbine housing obviously which takes the power outcome from 550hp that CT458 produces to 625hp according to the website.

That is the small difference im after. No fuss!

As to why im asking these kinds of questions, and not just stating all the list of things you said about what i want my car to do,where i will drive it, etc,its because i have already done this step already.

Andy, sorry, was not aiming You with my sarcastic comments.

Basically, the 350 is made to I5 like this:

-stock bottom end, stock/rs2 manifold = stage5 (63mm) #8 KKK hotside. Big wheel to higher spool/lower torque (momentarily not available from CT)
-stock bottom end, Wagner Evo manifold = stage 5 .63 turbine
-strong rods, otherwise stock = stage3 (57mm) turbine with either .82 or .63 hotside housing, depending on use. For autobahn, always the bigger one, or even stage4
-strong rods, tube manifold = a superstg3 .63 for streets, stg4 .63 for trackdays, 4 inch comp housing

      A stg3 .63 ct350 gives 400hp with 1,7-1,8bar and enormous torque

      A stg5 .82 gives even 500hp with 1,8bar, if everything clicks.

Same turbo, lots of different varieties.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated

Thanks for that, another option to think about, thanks for the info as it seems to fall directly in my interest area. I don't have £000s to play with so need to get the best out for every £ when I make any changes. I have already found that my car on the OE turbo is fast compared to other cars with more power because 1) I know how it behaves so can drive it correctly and 2) the mid-range torque means that you aren't always off boost on road & track when you need the fast response. I was intinally interested in the 3071, then the 2871 got more press on here... the surge issue does mean that you'll miss out on that massive torque you refer to on the top option ct350 and also on the RS2 option...

Just got to keep saving up the £s now...

Basic journal bearing CT costs 990 eur with vat, so they are not very expensive when compared to Garrett units.
