I take it you've blocked the pipe that goes into the inlet manifold from the carbon canister solenoid? If it's still connected up then it will make a leak when operating.

      Good luck finding the problem...

If they are the set you borrowed off me, they were ok when taken out but were not used for about 4 yrs so might be gummed up.

Could get it hot and then disconnect various sensors to see if it makes a positive difference. SOmthing like hte Lambda could be to blame? A zero signal is better than an erroneous one for the ECU, just make sure you clear the codes when you're finished

Yeah, thats a good idea andy. I did try all that but it didn't make any difference, the only thing that effected the idle was the MAF and the ISV.

Not even the TBS changed anything when i unplugged it but i did test it when plugged in with a multimeter and its all working fine.

@ john, yeah they are yours.

I will try my 660cc Siemens injectors today but i dont know how htey will run on the stock 3b software, however if it makes a difference then maybe the injectors are to blame.

It will run stupid rich on the 660s

You could dunk the 3B ones in some injector cleaner and then run a bit through the engine.

Yeah i tried it with the 660s just to see what would happen and it didnt like it.

Ill give the injectors a clean, maybe that will help.

Just to bring this up again encase any one is interested the bad idle ended up being the Bosch DV's leaking air.

Because they were venting to atmosphere they were letting in air as they are slightly open at idle.

So the whole time the engine was getting unmettered air and that resulted in the bad idling, once i swapped to the Turbosmart DV's that stay closed there was no longer a problem and the car idled fine.

This happened months ago now but i just remembered that i never updated the thread.

Thanks for all your help anyway.
