Hi all
I think this one it's good for Paul (S2 Central Net)
I had my after run pump running continuosly even with ignition off some weeks ago.
it was cold weather so i simply disconnect the plug from the pump and waited for a spare relay to come from a friend.
Main while i blowed a coolant pipe inside engine bay, one of the two that are connected to the heater matrix.... fiifteen years and one of the pipes of the heater matrix decided that it had enough...... and broke in my hand..
So major work dashboard out and new heater matrix...... a nightmare!
Eventually i dismount the dashboard changed the heater matrix put the after run pump relay in position put everything back togheter and reconnected the plug in the pump and nicely it does not run continuosly.... happy man!
Itook this morning the car to a garage to have my air conditon refilled (it was emptyed before the dash job) and everything works fine to the last bulb.
The only thing is that my radiator fan doesn't kick in at the slowest speed when i switch the air conditioning on as it used to do.
I went trough this schematic http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articl...e_fuse_box.htm
And i found that my N° 20 fuse position (radiator fan 1st speed/radiator fan relay) it's empty.... (also empty on another RS2 of a friend)
Relays 214 in the main fuse box from the above schematic should be three.... but i have one.... the one beside the spare fuses on the bottom row (last to the right bottom) the other two:
second from the left and third from the left upper row are not there..... i putted the first from left in position and nothing happened..... i putted the second one in position and.... fan stays continuosly even with the ignition off.
I thougt about the thermal switch for the after run circuit but the pump it's not running so i assume the switch it's ok.....am I wrong?
My question is what's triggering the radiator fan to slowest speed whit AC on?
The fan does kick in afetrwards at a fastest speed with AC on and temperature it's ok.
AC works fine.
Anyone knows anything about it?
Thanks a lot
Stefano
