Audi Tuners in London - around that area (7A Engine)

Does anyone else have some more input as to what the problem could be - or know of any tuners in the area? thanks!

What exactly is the problem? Is there no spark? Try swapping for another dizzy see if that helps. Like you say, if it was running before then I can't see it being timing unless it has jumped a tooth on the belt.

You say you heard some loud tapping? I had a gasket fail between cylinders once on an old 10v 5-pot, ran but sounded awful with a loud pinking noise. Eventually stopped running. If I were you i'd try a compression test too.

Any suggestions would be at best a blind guess. I'd start with the basics, pull a plug lead and stick a spark plug in it, ground to the cyl head and crank the engine checking for spark. Then check if the fuel pump is priming when the ignitions switched on, crank the engine and hold an injector to feel if its firing. If either of those two arent running its time to start looking for fault codes to figure out what sensor the ECU isnt seeing anymore, if it does nothing i would suspect crank sensor on the flywheel, or the engine position sensor inside the distributer. Infact remove the dizzy cap and turn the engine over to confirm the distributer gear hasnt failed. .....see i'm blind guessing now
