Hello.
I've uninstalled exhaust mainfold from my ABY engine and one thread breaked somewhere inside the head
And the magic question is how to get that thing out?
p.s. Sorry for my english, I hope you guys understand my problem.
Its not sticking out. Its totaly in the head.
When tryed to uninstall the 12mm nut, it come so easy, I havent even to try hard to get it out. I gues it already was breaked before.
hardest bit with easy-outs is drilling the pilot hole for them - especially on the exhaust side of the head with the canted over
As Jamo said its either the tried and tested Dremel method, or some people (nieve probably ) would take the head off and get it to a mchine shop and get it extracted properly and save the threads in the head

I am not a great fan of Ez outs - they are very hard and if you snap them are incredibly difficult to remove - spark erosion springs to mind. Persoanlly i have had little to no success with them and would avoid.
If the stud / bolt broke off in the head then IMHO it's a head off to drill out and run a tap through.
If part of the stud is showning then could possibly weld a nut onto it (subject to access).
This would not be ideal of course but might save you a few hundred quid..
P.s. i have used easy out's on 3 snapped EM studs. 2 worked like a charm, then the drill bit got weak, i got sloppy and didnt drill 100% in the center so used a smaller hole and stud extractor and it snapped off.
The machine shop charged £4 to drill it out and re coil it.
If a bit of the stud was sticking out you would get a drill chuck round it and use that too unwind it, i did this on a cam cap stud.
